Pragalaya
Pragalaya (www.prajnalaya.org) an orphanage and educational institution for those orphans who reside there, was established by the Late Jugal Bhuyan in 2002 in Sarapani village near Titabor, Assam. Jugal was an insurgent, a member of the outlawed ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam). Instead of becoming a SULFA (Surrendered ULFA), Jugal resigned the life in the jungle and returned to his village and established Pragalaya (or Pranjalaya). Pragalaya's main goal is to teach and train its students about the language, culture, and heritage of Assam as well as improve the lives of these children at present and in future.

The ASAF either through its members or working with other similar organizations, has been providing financial and educational support to Pragalaya over the years. For example, in July 2010, current ASAF President Sanjib Bhuyan trained a few principal members of the Pragalaya Board on modern book keeping using commonly used software, such as MS Excel. In addition, a 10-day training for these Pragalaya members in the Academy of Computer Technology, Titabor, was sponsored by Sanjib Bhuyan in Jul-Aug 2010.
